Began her NAACP journey in 1979 after connecting with Mr. & Mrs. John Due

Led the historic consolidation of five Miami branches

Elected President of the Miami-Dade Branch in 1989

Served as Miami-Dade Branch President from 1989–2001

Elected NAACP Florida State Conference President in 2000

Served 25 years as State Conference President

47 years of dedicated service to the NAACP

Today, we honor Dr. Nweze’s lifetime of service—her courage, her conviction, and her enduring commitment to advancing equality across Florida and beyond. Her leadership continues to inspire the next generation of advocates rising in power.
